Novell - Logging into the BE Windows Server
When starting or logging in again on a windows machine or accessing the Novell "NetWare Connections" option from the red “N” icon on the menu bar (right-click on the red N and select “Netware Login”), you will see the following login screen:

To successfully log into the BE windows server (necessary for most printing access and all file services) you need three pieces of information. 1) a Username, 2) a Password, and 3) the correct Server Context. You should have all of this information when a new account is created. If not, contact the BE computer consultants at caup@u.washington.edu. If this is for a course account, please contact your faculty.
To use these identifiers to log in, you first enter the Username and Password in the obvious boxes in the “Novell Login” window. Then click on the "Advanced" button to expand the window.

You should see something similar to the following:

On BE machines, the Tree and Server should always come up as shown. The username and context will probably show the information from the last successful login. You will need to change both to log in. If the Context shown does not match yours, you will need to change it. You can type it directly in the window, or select the Browse icon:

and the following screen should appear. Just highlight the correct option (for example- select Larch for a context of LARCH.BE- shown below)

Select the "OK" button twice, once for both the BETREE window above and the original "Novell Login" window and, if all the information is correct, you should be logged into the BE Novell server. At this point you may have some network drives "mapped" automatically that will allow you to access a folder on the server. The default user drive is the U: drive, almost all accounts have one.
