Free Registration

ArcGIS (ESRI)

UW students enrolled in GIS courses may acquire ESRI software for use on personal computers on a one-year time out license. The software must be requested through a faculty member who is teaching a GIS course in which the student is enrolled.

Please see here for details of the program:
www.esri.com/industries/university/education/student-eval_faqs.html

The form that the faculty member must fill out is available at
gis2.esri.com/industries/education/promo/

Also check out our Application Server option.

ArchiCAD (Graphisoft)

A free 1 yr termed version of ArchiCAD is available for students. It is fully functional, but places a watermark on all projects created.

To download it, follow the instructions for registration here:
www.graphisoft.com/community/education/downloads/

Details on the program can be found here:
eduregistration.graphisoft.com/PDF/ArchiCAD12EDU_en_Help.pdf

Autodesk Software (Autodesk)

The Autodesk Student Engineering & Design Community Program, open to all students, staff and faculty at the UW, provides networking, employment opportunities and free software. Most Autodesk software (including Revit and Architecture) is available on a one-year time out license through this program.

Register for the program at: www.autodesk.com/edcommunity

Note that the registration and installation process is a bit convoluted. Autodesk has provided a document (Revit-Product-activation.pdf) to illustrate the process for Revit - the process for other Autodesk software is similar.
