Financial Aid

We encourage you to explore the options for making your studies at the University of Washington affordable. UW is committed to making education accessible.

Annually the College of Built Environments (BE) awards funding to eligible students based on merit and/or need. Prospective students receive notification of awards at the time of admission. Once you are a current student you will be considered for a roster of BE resources which are awarded at BE Recognition Day.

In addition to college based funds there are a wide range of University, State, Federal, and privately funded financial aid resources available including: scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study jobs. Graduate and Ph.D students are also eligible for graduate assistantships and fellowships. One important step in the financial aid process is timely completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form used by numerous colleges is available each year on January 1st. For financial aid guidance and FAFSE information visit the UW Office of Student Financial Aid.

Incoming freshman or transfer students pursuing their first Bachelor's degree should explore the Husky Promise. The Husky Promise initiated in 2007-08 academic year guarantees that full tuition will be covered by grant or scholarship support if you are a low- or lower middle-income student and a Washington resident.
